Scott Morlan
For Scott Morlan, surfing is a way of life. Starting at twelve years old, surfing has been a passion for him to this very day. There is no finer way to start your day than getting wet with a few friends...it will cure your ills, your aches, your grumpies and you will have a sunnier outlook on the entire day. Scott teaches at Newport Harbor High School in the math department as well as teaching AVID, Environmental Surf Class, and the Surf Team. This year Newport Harbor's Surf Team won the ISF State Championships in both girls & boys shortboard divisions. It is the Environmental Surf Class that initiated the no smoking ban on Newport beaches, and we are currently working on having NB City Council implement a ban on the use of styrofoam products in Newport's restaurants. Teaching surfing for Newport's Recreation Department since 1973, Scott facilitates the Endless Fun Surfing Lessons and Camps through the Rec Department, plus teaching afternoon surf classes for UC Irvine in the Spring & Fall months. |
